ABC Cantonese: L.L. Dub, M.S. Qualifichumacations: I did go to school to get a degree in linguistics (as much as I loved it, it did not love me back in terms of paying the bills) My C.V. says I was a Cantonese instructor for two years (which paid in "honor" and "passing on the heritage" instead of in cash) An ABC by definition, but deep down a FOB for all intents and purposes. My blog is NOT part of the Cantonese 正音 movement nor one of those political movements to discourage use of other languages. I firmly believe in DESCRIPTIVE grammar, not prescriptive grammar. So don't listen to your teacher or the TV trying to "correct" your way of speaking. If you are raised to use a sound, a word, a slang differently than "the academy," just own it!
